Sightseeing by an open top double decker bus is a fantastic way to see Sorrento in all its glory. The tour takes around 90 minutes and guides you through the town sharing with you the history and culture which engulfs the Sorrento Peninsula before stopping to overlook panoramic views over to the stunning Isle of Capri. There are many different excursions available from Sorrento but one of the best by far takes you deep into the ancient city of Pompeii, which was mostly buried in molten ash after the violent eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD. You will have time to explore the remains of the baths and arena of this Roman city for yourself before heading over to the volcano where it all started, to take in the stunning views.

You haven’t fully experienced the natural beauty of the area until you see the striking landscape of the Amalfi Coast.  There are regular excursions by coach, but can also be done by hiring a car, be warned though, this adventurous drive is not for the faint hearted as you travel along the narrow twisting roads above Sorrento and Amalfi village.
