Lake Garda Airport Guide
There are two airports serving UK arrivals into Lake Garda. The first is Verona Villafranca Airport, which is also known as Valerio Catullo Airport. Flying time from most of the UK takes just over 2 hours. The second is smaller Bergamo Airport, which again has a short flight journey of approximately 2 hours.
Use our Lake Garda airport guide on both places to help plan your journey.
Arriving at Lake Garda
Getting to resort from Verona Airport is straight forward; regular bus services, shuttle transfers and taxis all run from outside the arrivals terminal to Lake Garda. If you decide to travel by taxi, it is advisable to agree a price in advance. Arriving at Bergamo: If you haven’t pre-booked any transfers, Lake Garda can be reached by bus or by taxi.
A quick and easy alternative is hiring a car before travel, which will be ready to pick up and drop off again onsite at the airport. See our car hire pages for prices in Lake Garda.
Transfer times
Depending on arrival time and traffic conditions, transfers to resort can take up to 2 hours.
Return journey
It is highly advisable to confirm return check-in details on your tickets or with the airline direct before your return journey as requirements can vary between airlines. On arrival, you will see boards displaying airline check-in desk numbers. For flights departing from Bergamo be aware it is very small and in summer months this can get extremely crowded.
Facilities in departures
Verona airport: Once passed through security there are shopping, food & drink outlets available including clothes and gift shops, cafes for snacks and Japanese restaurant Zushi. Bergamo Airport: Has a range of shops, McDonald’s, a wine bar and some cafes in the departures lounge.
Official IATA codes are: Verona VRN and Bergamo BGY.
